Izzy Leto is a multidisciplinary artist of Colombian and Italian descent, residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the Midwest. She is currently attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, working towards her BFA. She works with drawing, painting, textiles, photography, and mixed media, refusing to limit herself to any one medium. In her work, she reflects on her life experiences, memories, emotions, and childhood.

Influenced by my childhood and life experiences, I hope to make sense of and process the world around me. I use art as an outlet for healing, self-understanding, and reflection. Through my artistic process, I get playful, messy, and experimental, preserving childlike ways of playing and creating, which are most authentic to me. Color and texture are essential elements in my work, I love the joy that it can bring. I feel naturally drawn to bright colors and incorporate them as often as I can. I view the usage of color as a rebellion against the increasingly neutral palette of the United States. In my work, I hope to foster curiosity, joy, connection and introspection in the viewer.
